Official ABA Shooting Rules
*NEW* Bowhunter Fingers and Men's Novice have been combined into one Division.
I. There will be 14 Divisions:
II. At the ABA Shoots, if shooting as an Affiliated Club there is no charge. If not shooting as an Affiliated Club the cost is $20.00 per team.
III. Shooters with Traditional equipment are the only divisions that can shoot the same range more than once.
IV. Awards given will be determined by the Executive Committee prior to each shoot.
V. Shooting will be from unknown distances. Some part of the shooter body must touch the stake.
VI. Scoring will be as follows 1st arrow-12,10,8,5. 2nd arrow-3-2-1.
VII. In order for any arrow to receive the higher scoring value it must at least touch the line. There will be two score keepers per group. No one in the group may advance toward the target until all arrows are shot.
VIII. No crossbows and no range-finding devices shall be used in any division. (Binoculars are allowed in all divisions).
IX. Participants must be current ABA members.
X. Only the Executive Committee can make changes to these rules. The committee has the final decision on all rules.

A. Top Bow - All shooters, (no divisions). Everyone who shoots this class must pay an entry fee, including life members. Pro's can
be on a team.
over 15 shooters pays 2 places, 50% for 1st and 20% for 2nd.
B. Unlimited - There are on restrictions on shooting equipment. Scopes are permitted.
C. Bowhunter Release - The following equipment is not allowed: moveable sights and scopes that magnify.
D. Hunter Division - Maximum 12" stabilizer with no other stabilizing equipment; fixed pins with no magnification; screw in tips; any release or fingers may be used.
E. Barebow - Bows without sighting aids or devices on the string, bow, glove or tab. No release aids or holding devices allowed. String silencers and overdraws are allowed.
F. Longbow - Longbow without sighting aids or devices on the string, bow, glove or tab. No release aids or holding devices allowed. String silencers and overdraws allowed.
G. Recurve - Recurve bow without sighting aids or devices on the string, bow, glove or tab. No release aids or holding devices allowed. String silencers and overdraws allowed.
H. Seniors - Must be at least 50 years old. There are no restrictions onshooting equipment. Scopes are permitted.
I. Ladies Sights - Follows same guidelines as Section B.
J. Ladies Bowhunter - Follow same guidelines as Sections C and D.
K. Youth - Consisting of all styles together in one division. Ages 13-15.
L. Cub - Consisting of all styles together in one division. Ages 9-12.
M. PeeWee - Consisting of all styles together in one division. Ages 8 and under.
N. Team - Consisting of 4 members, 4 different divisions, including Youth, Cub, PeeWee, and Top Bow.
